About Taylor Young

My name is Taylor and I currently live in Radford, Va with my family. I am not really sure where I am "from" but if I had to choose one of the locations I have lived I would say I am from Roanoke, Va. I moved to Radford three years ago from a small town in North Carolina called Hendersonville. I completed my freshman year of college there when my family decided it was time for us to come home.

My interesting family situation is that I live at home with my parents, brother, and three dogs in Radford. Being a senior in college and living at home with your parents can get pretty interesting.

As I said previously, I am a senior at Radford this year and graduate in May with a degree in Early Childhood and Early Childhood Special Education. I have not always been an education major. My freshman year I majored in criminal justice and when I first transferred to Radford I wanted to go to law school. However, the world have a different plan for me. After being an elementary education major for a semester I finally ended up where I belong and have loved it ever since. My major is a fifth year masters program so I am taking this graduate course to try and stay ahead of the game so to speak.

I am pursuing this degree because I love children and I want to be a pillar of influence in their life. I want to help children learn about the world and see the light go off when they learn something new. I am truly fascinated by children and how innocent and loving they are. The minds of children are amazing and I want to be apart of shaping them. I am involved in the lives of many children around the community and they keep me going.

At this point in time I truly have no idea what I want to when I graduate and I cannot even begin to think about what I will be doing in 5-10 years. I have really enjoyed all of my placements so far which has not made narrowing down my options any easier. I thoroughly enjoyed working in early intervention so maybe I will end up doing developmental services and service coordination.

Some things that bug me are people chewing with their mouths open nd people being late to name a couple.

The cold also bugs me therefore I do not like winter.

Winter bugs me....

Lastly, Netflix bugs me when they do not upload old seasons before the new one starts.

The most important things in my life are my family, my friends, my dogs, and my education.
