Xchelzín Peña began working as our communications intern in early March of 2017.
She closely works alongside our Assistant Director, Courtney Lopez, by writing press releases, interviewing various community constituents and composing "Philanthropy Friday" pages.
Peña graduated from NMSU in December of 2016, double majoring in Journalism and Mass Communications and Spanish.
I have learned so much through the Community Foundation's team, shared Peña. and it makes me happy to know that I have worked and contributed to meet CFSNM's Philanthropic mission of making a lasting impact on the quality of life in southern New Mexico.
Peña's last day as a student intern is scheduled for July 6, 2017.
Xchelzin has been a great addition to our team, we have appreciated her hard work and ENTHUSIASM for creating a culture of philanthropy in our region, said lopez. we are excited to continue partnering with nmsu and offering internship experiences for students.
