Welcome! Thank you for taking the time to read our very first TITAN Football Newsletter. This has been a positive and celebratory year for our Titan Football Program. We will begin by sharing some highlights from the 2018 season.
Titan Touchdown Club
In May of 2018, the nonprofit Organization called Titan Touchdown Club (TTC) was formed. The TTC is made up of an Executive Board, which includes eight officers; Head Coach, President, Vice President, Secretary, Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer, and 2 Members at Large. Membership is free! General Meetings are held monthly (exception December).
Titan Football Players Support Elementary and Junior High by Volunteering
In the very early morning of May 19, 2018, Titan football players showed up at Delia Park and got right to work at the UCS SOS 5K Run/Walk. They volunteered their time to benefit Junior High School Sports!
Summer of 2018, Titan football players donated their time by working with elementary and junior high football players at Summer Camp.
Kick Off Picnic
On August 22, 2018, the first annual Kick Off Picnic was held at the new Farmers Market Pavilion at Dodge Park. For the first time the Football, Dance and Cheer teams along with the Marching Band joined together to celebrate the beginning of the season. There was food, fun and singing of the Titan Fight Song!
Raising money takes a lot of hard work and effort! Our Titan family was up for the challenge, as they showed their support by participating in numerous fundraisers. There was the Rick Bye Golf Outing, Freddy’s Bar, Buffalo Wild Wing and Charity Mania. Charity Mania was the most profitable thus far; while the other fundraisers brought everyone together.
Military Game/Senior Night Game
September 28, 2018, was a very memorable night as service members from the US Army partook in the coin toss, gave away a gift card, and awarded a trophy to the Student Athlete of the Week.
We will never forgot celebrating our 36 seniors; I think the rain hid our tears on this extremely emotional night. After being recognized, the Senior and their escort(s) headed over to get their picture taken behind a handmade goal post frame!
Cancer Awareness Game
On October 12, 2018, Stevenson High School designated their football game to cancer awareness. We sold cancer awareness shirts, bracelets, and pins. We also provided hot cider and donuts for a donation in an effort to raise money for a childhood cancer charity.Thank you to ALL who supported our Cancer Awareness Game. We are pleased to present a check for $2000.00 to The Andrew McDonough B+ Foundation.
