What is ISIL and what is their motive?
General Mattis was appointed Secretary of Defense and since he was elected the United States has bombed ISIL (Islamic State of Iraq and Levant) thirty one times. The Drone fighters and bombers have attacked IS (Islamic State) targets in and around Mosul in Iraq in six airstrikes. In Syria, there were twenty five airstrikes against tactical IS (Islamic State) targets and they hit two oil wells near Deir ez-Zor. According to Donald trump he vows to eradicate the IS (Islamic State). Al-Qaeda is also operating in Yemen.
What is ISIS and what is the relationship between Iraq and Syria?
The United States led operation to reclaim Mosul that has created a religious rift (stress) within the Islamic State (ISIS). This is the terrorist group who has a complicated relationship with Islam. The ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria) members have mostly affected the collapse of Mosul who are foreign fighters. Their forces begin to crumble and they have very few options available to them. For the same reason, it is difficult for them to blend in with the refugees. They are under the understanding that they will most likely die and sooner than later. They do not care. They believe by doing this it will allow them to die a shaheed, or one who has died fulfilling a religious commandment. According to the civilians who they spoke to in Mosul, some of the fighters are now openly smoking on the streets of the self-proclaimed caliphate.
What does the Iraqi forces control?
The Iraqi forces have claimed the control of eastern Mosul, which is the largest Iraqi city by ISIS (Islamic State Iraq and Syria) with nearly a million residents. There are thousands of Iraqi soldiers who have lost their lives due to fighting to retake part of the city. Abdul-Wahab al-Saadi says that the Iraqi forces need airstrikes and more equipment to get the job done. The Islamic State still has control over the western regions of Mosul and the Iraqi forces look to the President of the United States, Donald Trump for more support. The Iraqi general said, “They need more help from the United States and the people have exhausted in Mosul is the last thing they want to hear is they need more help.” They are sprawling-spread out over a large area in an untidy or irregular way. The Iraqi forces and ISIL are sprawling in Mosul for control over the city. They are spreading throughout over the land.
