The 5th Wave By: Rick Yancey & D'ron Jumpp

Summary : In the book aliens take over the earth, bringing death and destruction in five waves. During the first wave, an E.M.P destroys all power and electricity on earth. In the second wave, a huge bar is dropped from space that causes destruction on every coastline in the world. The third wave is when a different version of the Ebola virus wipes out more than seven billion people. Then, in the fourth wave it is discovered that some humans are hosts to the alien forms. The fifth wave is just beginning as Cassie and Ben make their way separately through a world they no longer know or understand.

This relates to the novel because one of the waves was a tsunami and flood.
This Represents a small portion of the blood loss in this novel.
This represents the little hope the people had in the city.
This Represents the city when the aliens came in.

“Everything's going to be okay', because that's what I wanted him to say and it's what he wanted to say and that's what you do when the curtain is falling — you give the line that the audience wants to hear.” -Rick Yancey, The 5th Wave

The 5th Wave was an interesting book from the start. I liked how the book always had a conflict going on ( The Waves), this really kept me on the edge. The book was overall different because you cant find many books that have conflict after conflict; their is usually one big conflict throughout the book. I love how the conflict involves aliens, they are very interesting to me, how people think they can just come in and take over, it crazy! I also liked how they made the book kind of realistic while using aliens. They made the waves like natural and not just people shooting like the Ebola, tsunami, and the blackout waves. If a person is interested in science fiction or war I think they would enjoy this book a lot. I also think people with interest in reading a book and then watching the movie would enjoy both the movie and book.

This represents the world being stripped of its happiness after the 5th wave , and the tree represents how they would have to start all over.
