Ewing Young Happenings March 24, 2017

The first music performance of the year was a BIG HIT! Thanks to our music director Mrs. Randolph, our 2nd and 3rd graders did a wonderful job at their annual performance!
New spaces for EY students to work have arrived! Frequently, our students are collaborating and working both in and outside of their classrooms. Thanks to EYST (that's EY Parents), new spaces have been created with the purchase of new furniture for kids to work.
The EY Bingo Night and Auction is Coming Up Soon! There will be lots of great auction items for parents and community members to choose from- including some amazing and beautiful student art. Please mark your calendars for Saturday evening, April 8th, here at our school.
Some amazing learning happening recently with great examples of student work found throughout our school. From dinosaurs to life cycles of trout, Ewing Young students are highly engaged in high-interest topics. Ask your child what they have been learning. I'll bet you will learn something new!

State Testing for Ewing Young third, fourth and fifth grade students will be coming up later in the spring (May). In Oregon, students take state exams called Smarter Balance to measure students progress toward meeting the Common Core Standards. You can find out more information by accessing the link below. If you have questions, please feel free to contact Mr. Milner, or your child's teacher.

It's time to start thinking about GARDENING! If you have the time, we have the garden. We have great soil and the area is in need of clean-up and planting. Give the office a call if you have an interest in helping out.
Spring Break is next week. The school will be closed during the week of March 27-31, with classes resuming on Monday April 3rd. Let's have some sunny weather!
