Travels With Todd By: Todd Fuller

On January 1st I went to India and saw the Hindu religion. Today i visited one of the most holy sites in all of the Hinduism religion. It is called Ayodhya, it is one of the seven ancient holy towns in India. I saw the first mosque that was built here and it was very pretty and elegant. Most of the buildings i noticed had high pointy tops on them. The significance of this sacred site is that Lord Roma was born here and Ayodhya already had a mosque built by the first Mughal emperor.

Hinduism has no single founder, no single holy book, and no specific teachings. They have many holy days and days of worship but the most well known and important is the festival of lights. 80 percent of the Indian population says that they are apart of the Hindu religion. Hinduism is the oldest living religion in the world today.

Buddhism is based off of the four noble truths. These four noble truths are suffering, the causes of suffering, the truth of the end of suffering, and the truth of the path that leads to the end of suffering. It focuses on the personal spiritual growth and development. Everything in Buddhism is all about yourself and growing in your own faith.

I traveled to Lumbini in Nepal. It is the birthplace of Buddha and therefore it is a sacred site to anyone that practices the religion of Buddha. People go here to be holier and worship Buddha; their god. The architecture of Lumbini is very neat and interesting. It has a tower in the middle that is much taller than the rest of the structure. It is known to be the birthplace of the holy one in Buddhism.

Judaism was born or created in the middle east. They believe that god chose them to be his chosen people and show the world how to be holy and how to act to praise god. Jews believe that there is one and only one god who created the universe and and he can have a personal relationship with every Jew.

The sacred site that i visited was biblical mount sanai. It is a very beautiful mountain and many Jews visit this sacred site every year. Mount Sinai was where god gave the ten commandments to Moses. Jewish people think this is a holy site because it is where their rules of religion where given to the. The architecture is rocky and rough, it is difficult to climb because of how steep it is.

Christianity is based on the belief of Jesus being the messiah as stated in the old testament. Christians believe that God sent his son Jesus to save humanity from their sins. One of the most sacred beliefs of Christianity is that Jesus died on the cross and rose again and went to heaven.

The sacred site i went to is Bethlehem which is the birthplace of Jesus who is Gods son. Bethlehem is one of the strongest christian cities in the world. Most of the Christians visit this city and look where Jesus was born and it is known as a holy city to them because theirs gods son was born here. The architecture in Bethlehem is very tall buildings with a lot of detail and pointy pillars that stick out of the buildings.

Islam followers are called Muslims and they believe that there is one and only one god and his name is Allah. They believe that Allah sent many different prophets to teach the Muslims how to live based on his laws. Jesus, Moses, and Abraham are the most well known prophets in the Islam religion.

The sacred site that i am vising for the Islamic religion is the Taj Mahal. It is one of the most sacred sites in all of the Muslim religion. The king Shah Jahan built the Taj Mahal for his favorite wife the queen. Most of the Muslims will go here to pray and worship their god. The architecture of the Taj Mahal is very cool. There are four pillars on the four corners of the Taj Mahal and they surround the great ball and the point on the top of it. In the center of it there is a big spot where the sun will shine through and it makes it a very relaxing and neat place to worship Allah.
