Passyunk Square or East Passyunk Crossing is bounded by Washington Avenue to Tasker Street, Sixth to Broad Streets; Tasker to Snyder Avenue, Eighth to Broad Streets in South Philadelphia. What better way to celebrate its more than 100 years in existence than with a blockbuster street festival? This year, the already-bustling heart of South Philly welcomes more than 70,000 visitors to the area for its annual South 9th Street Italian Market Festival. As one of the city’s most popular block parties, the entire neighborhood directs its attention towards the festival for the weekend. Tons of vendors and local businesses set up booths along South 9th Street, which a portion of will be closed off to traffic. Find the area between Fitzwater and Wharton streets free of cars and instead filled with tons of entertainment and food!
