Has tension stress and creates mountains and valleys.
Examples: Mid-Atlantic Ridge between NA and Africa, The East African Rift, and the Mid-Atlantic Ridge on an island of Iceland.

The 2 plates move together and create mountains.
The type of stress is compression stress.
They create mountains. Examples: Himalayas, ocean trenches, and the Aleutian Volcanic Arc in Alaska.
Transform Boundary *up* *down*
2 plates slide past each other.
The type of stress is shear stress.
They create fault zones. Examples: San Andreas Fault, Pacific Ridge, and multiple more in California.
