Festivals

The Quebec winter carnival is held each year and is known for one of the oldest winter festivals .This festival has everything Ice hotels ,food ,fishing, snow castle , concerts for kids , and ice sculpture contests .The first winter carnival was held in 1894. The event was restored in 1954 as part of efforts to regain the economy of the provincial capital. Since then the winter festival was held every year . A tradition at the festival would be wearing red . Such as the arrived belt , during the 19th century the red belt is used to tighten the waist coats to prevent from the cold . Many people believe it is an indigenous origin . Whereas the scarf is made of two mixtures : The Native Amerindian weaving and French Canadian weaving . (Lambert)

Attractions

The CN tower in Toronto was the world's tallest free standing structure until 2007. It costed $52 million to build the CN tower .It was opened on June 26 1976. Each year about 2 million people visit and ride the glassed elevators 342 m to the sky pod . In 1995 the CN tower was known as one of the 7 wonders of the modern world ,by American society .For the CN towers 35th anniversary in 2011 the CN tower decided to open the Edge walk a ledge 1.5 m wide circling the tower's main pod. I choose this because it's perfect for sightseeing and dinner . (Mcmordie)

Food

Poutine is a Canadian dish made of French fries topped with cheese curds and hot gravy . It first appeared in 1950's rural Quebec snack bars .Poutine has become a symbol of Québécois and Canadian cuisine and culture. The word poutine is commonly believed to have originated from the English word pudding (as in French "pouding") which is used to describe a mixture ,typically messy of various foods . In Quebec the term poutine is slang for mess . I choose poutine because a lot of people enjoy the taste of hot gravy ,melting cheese and a side of fries .(Aronavitch)
