WHAT MAKES ME WORTHY
Hotel Chocolat, Leeds (April 2016): Supporting the Marketing Manager during the launch of two new drink ranges. Planning and managing engaging social media content, supervising sampling in store and around Leeds city centre and supporting the running of a Café Marketing Forum to brief all Café Managers. During this role I was able to display my creativity and capability to create and manage a local campaign whilst developing my strengths in brand communications.
Bentley Motors, Crewe (August 2014 – August 2015): As part of my University degree I have completed a placement year within the Communications department at Bentley Motors. Playing a key role in the relationship between Bentley and the media, I helped to organise and carry out a number of events to launch new models to the media. Visiting Norway for two weeks I was able to prove my ability to work under challenging circumstances by helping to host and manage 80 journalists driving and reviewing the 2016 Model Year Continental GT Speed. I also attended the Goodwood Festival of Speed, working closely with Marketing over the weekend, managing a number of media interviews and roundtables with Bentley's CEO.
I worked alongside the Internal Communications team, the Corporate Communications Manager and Digital and Social Manager to broaden my knowledge of communications and experience working for a dynamic and successful automotive company.
Perception Sales & Marketing, Cheadle Hulme (June 2014): A week placement with one of the most renowned hotel sales representation companies in the UK, I gained valuable experience within the luxury travel and lifestyle industry. Organising press trips and travel reviews gave me an insight into the importance of media, bloggers and influencers whilst building telephone communication skills.
Sytner Group (Bentley Motors, McLaren, and Rolls Royce Motorcars), Knutsford (January 2014): Working with the Marketing Manager responsible for the three brands, I experienced many aspects of the different marketing strategies. One of my responsibilities was to find a venue within the Lake District to launch the new Rolls Royce collection car. After putting together a pitch and a selection of hotels, myself, the Marketing Manager and Head of Sales for Rolls Royce took a trip to the Lake District to visit the destinations I had found. This role taught me the importance of working within time constraints and achieving results effectively within a short period of time.
Clearsilver, Leeds (October 2013 – April 2014): Working for a PR, design, digital and events agency, I collated weekly press cuttings, attended various meetings and creative brainstorming sessions for a number of clients. I worked closely with the professional high-end hairdresser Russell Eaton to grow and manage their social media presence using Hootsuite. This role exposed me to the importance of building and maintaining professional relationships within an industry and I was also able to develop my skills on the computer, becoming familiar with a number of different databases including CisionPoint.
Wolfstar Consultancy, Leeds (March – June 2013): I was offered a paid internship through LinkedIn with the public relations and social media specialists. Working with a number of different clients allowed me to experience working externally for large organisations and the importance of prioritising workload. In April 2013 I was part of the Wolfstar team at the four day London Coffee Festival event, to introduce and promote a client into the coffee market.
