Future Group Autumn Newsletter

Well, that was one beautiful summer and an extremely busy one for all of us at Future Group.

With the winter months not too far away, once again our thoughts are turning to the issue of lighting controls, especially when time clocks are the method of switching lighting in your block.

Now is a great time to have your block lighting serviced and overhauled. Soon common areas will need to be lit for durations of up to 16hrs per day. It’s hard enough to cope with dark mornings as we leave for work and return home, without finding that your internal - and external - lighting is either failing or is wrongly set.

Why not speak to one of our team to arrange a service visit so your block is not left in the dark this winter

What have we been up to?

We made it into the Hot 100 - twice!

Future Directors Jamie and Bradley were both included in this year’s News on the Block Hot 100. We were all very proud!

IRPM Regional Seminars.

Future Group sponsored this series of technical events held in key cities up and down the country. We enjoyed meeting old friends and new faces and generated plenty of interest in our new products and ideas. We were also able to promote our mission to build strong, long lasting relationships and deliver a first class service time after time.

ARMA Annual Conference

Our Director Jamie attended the 2018 conference at London’s Park Plaza. Another great networking day and a chance to catch a fascinating presentation on how Prop-tech is increasingly impacting block management.

Future Group are investing in a new Proptech solution to assist our client base by streamlining the running of their properties.

The Future is now!

Projects we have been involved with

St Ignatius R C Primary School

This project involved the installation of a wireless fire detection and fire alarm system in a primary school.

We agreed with the client to supply & install a wireless FD&A system, as wiring throughout these buildings – which are both old and unusual - would have presented a difficult challenge. The new system, designed by Future Group, utilises the latest wireless technologies to provide rapid and economic fire system installations with the minimum of disturbance to the surroundings.

We completed the project within three weeks during the summer holidays without disruption to the building or its internal or external décor and the system was in place for the start of the autumn term.

James Oglethorpe School

Schools may have been out for summer but Future Lighting was busy installing a wide range of carefully designed lighting systems in schools in and around London, while the children were enjoying their summer break. James Oglethorpe School was a stand out project that involved the installation of a new emergency lighting system right across the school and in the children’s dining room.

Southwold Mansions

We have just completed an new emergency lighting and fire alarm project at Southwold Mansions in Maida Vale. All internal emergency lighting was replaced together with the installation of a state- of-the-art Hyfire wireless fire alarm system. The project also included a rather impressive external lantern.

Rewriting the rules on fire safety

Fire safety is at the forefront of all our minds, but when they are not on-site, block managers don’t know when systems are in fault, so they often rely on maintenance teams and even residents to alert them to problems.

Not good enough, we say; faulty systems can put the lives and property of residents at risk. So in response Future Fire Systems has launched NOD – an auto-notification device that retro-fits into existing fire alarm panels, monitoring systems in real-time and sending signals to a cloud-based app or web portal via a 4G SIM.

Once installed and connected, NOD advises users that all their systems are ‘healthy’ until they receive a ‘fire’ or ‘fault’ signal. A monitoring community can be set up so that the signal can be sent to any user or group of users (i.e. block managers) linked to the device and/or property. The system can be installed at a very low cost and use of the App is then charged monthly, over a yearly subscription.

CPD Training

We are often asked by Property Managers if the Future Group can provide CPD time. In acknowledgement to these enquiries, Future Fire Systems has gained CPD Accredited Membership and will soon be rolling out training modules on Active Fire Protection, Passive Fire Protection and Emergency Lighting. We understand that Property Managers will soon require a level of CPD per annum, thus we have recognised this need and have put in place steps to assist in gaining valuable learning time. If you are interested in finding out more about Fire & Life Safety CPD and how we can support you and your Team, please contact us for further information

What does the Future hold?

With the growth of Future Group this year, we have outgrown our office space. Instead of moving we have decided to stay where we are but to increase our office size. The refurb is now underway…

We have lots of interesting projects and ideas in the pipeline for the next few months… so watch this space!

There are huge changes underway in the block management sector – at Future Group we are committed to making it as easy as possible for our clients to be compliant with all new and existing regulations and always aim to help you keep your residents safe and secure in their homes.

And of course, we’re looking forward to hanging the baubles on the office Christmas tree and celebrating another fantastic year for Future Group at our office Christmas party.
