The Great DEprression

The Great Depression was a time where African Americans didn't have as many rights. This was a hard time for people because they were not allowed to out many different things. The Great Depression was a time where blacks got hung and were slaves to whites. This affected the family in the Roll of Thunder because they had to walk up to school everyday and every time the school bus came along the bus driver would splash them and call them the ''N'' word. When the kids got the books it said the ''N'' word again. This is saying that whites are better than blacks and they can write what ever they want and their teacher who was white was getting mad because little man wouldn't take the book because what it said and the white teacher said ''that's what you are''. Whites think that it's okay to kill blacks or to tell them what to do and what not to do or even tell them we're better than you so we get a bus to school or we get to use this drinking fountain not you. This Great Depression happened when the stock markets and banks crashed it was a hard road to recover so whites had to use slaves to get the work done.
