Condemnation does nothing for the redemption of people or situations. God redeems by applying Himself to us and drawing us into His life.

He finds us and draws us in to His Family


The mode of the world outside of Christ is largely shaming, condemnation and manipulation. Absorbed in externalities the way of the world does not change the heart and as a result the perversion of our humanity continues to arise at another time and place in another form. As distinct from this the way that is Jesus is the new and living way whereby His life becomes our life.

Jesus shames no one.

The wide Road

By and large, ‘the world’ follows the template of the knowledge of good and evil and the separationism that goes with it – they are a function of each other. It attempts to apply its own version of the law formed from the pressure of current issues or current fads.

Not the main Issue

The non-believer has no choice but to follow some version of himself, picked up from family or acquire from society as a current issue in the media. This will be a current issue like ‘Me Too’ or some preoccupation that has gripped the popular mind and is the moralist flavour of the month. Some of these issues are of vital importance. But all of them are sub-issues resulting from separation from God.

One effect of separation from God is separation from ourselves,

There are many pastors and congregations who rejoice in a simple gospel of Christ in us. Others in large numbers who have never understood the reward of the cross. They are living a Christian version of the knowledge of good and evil. The incarnation, its meaning and power in the person and the church is not well known and this vitiates our ability to be Christ because we are trying too hard to be ‘like Christ.’

Trying too hard to be 'Christ-like.'

The most successful demonic strategy in the Christian Age is separationism: Our living as if the incarnation never happened. Stagnation in the church is the result if living in separation when we have been given union with God – all of us. This union is prior to repentance but is there to lead to repentance; to lead us to repent of living in our Adamic separation and addiction to some version of the knowledge of good and evil.

You can have a religious addiction to overcoming a separation that does not exist

The mystery of iniquity is mysterious because it covertly malevolent while appearing as virtue and wisdom. It’s mysterious too, in that it is a lie that people choose to believe. It’s rationalised with humbug and obfuscation in the secular and religious world. It is mysterious and death-dealing also in that Believers sometimes choose an identity that runs counter to life and the gospel of the Kingdom, because they obstinately prefer the semi-life that is theirs and an identity they suppose in the ideas of their parents and community. We are free to do this but if we do we are not worthy of Jesus and the ultra-life that is ours in an unconfused gospel.

Eat what you want and become what you are.

"Anyone who loves their father or mother more than me is not worthy of me; anyone who loves their son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me.


In time the nature of iniquity is revealed. It is outed if not by a torpor and the slow onset of death and by the fact that iniquity is its own punishment. A lie always results in the crippling of our humanity, a measure of pain and the approach of death in the spirit, soul and body. We can take heart of we have been misled, however as Jesus’ raising of dead people is the sign that He raises the spiritually dead and infuses them with life. We can negate all forms of death by immersing ourselves in the life that is the person of Jesus Christ. We are already in Him having been baptised in Him into the unlimited life of interwoveness and companionship with the Holy Family. We came forth from their life and we impart life to all we touch when we agree, believe and act from the great reality that we are the manifestation of the trinity where we are. Richard Rohr observes,


Made to Live in God

“Everything visible, without exception, is the outpouring of God. What else could it really be? “Christ” is a word for the Primordial Template (“Logos”) through whom “all things came into being, and not one thing had its being except through him” (John 1:3). (1)

If it does not have its being through Jesus and the Spirit of Sonship in you it is not alive - even if you have believed it all your life. Life comes from union with God and is God’s life in you and as you. ‘This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God’ 1 John 4.2 NIV. This is Jesus living in you to be you. You can be he expression of Christ by believing the truth that Christ is your life.

Christ is your life when you believe that by His Spirit He is you.

Where is Condemantion?

There is no condemnation in Christ Jesus yet we can condemn ourselves by obstinate choices and specious rationalisations of ‘what we have always believed.’ None so blind as those who will not see. To believe in Jesus is to believe in His Gospel over our own. It is to believe that there is no mediating factor between Jesus and ourselves other than Jesus. To see Jesus is to see you.

‘Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the name of God's one and only Son’ John 3.18 NIV.
