The famous Lord of the Flies is about a plane that goes down on a deserted island in the Pacific. The boys alive seek shelter on the island but a beast comes and turns everything to a deadly disaster. The book was banned because of violence and inappropriate language. It was challenged by the Dallas, TX Independent School District (1974) and Sully Buttes, SD High School (1981). After the book was challenged, it was banned for the excessive maturity.
