Bosnian War (1992-1995)

The Bosnian War was a territorial conflict between the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This war was basically about the Bosnia people not having the right to vote. Some military leaders were charged with war crimes because of what they did. The leaders mainly committed rape. They used rape as an instrument of terror. A leader, Dragolijub Kunarac was sentenced for 28 years imprisonment for rape, torture, and enslaving women.

Slobodan Milošević was a Yugoslav and Serbian politician who was the President of Serbia from 1989- 1997 and President of he Federal Republic of Yugoslavia from 1997-2000. He led the Socialist Party of Serbia from its foundation in 1990.

The Break up

WW1 and WW2 affected Bosnia and Croatia. After WW2, Yugoslavia broke up into 6 republics. There is no real reason why Yugoslavia broke up. Many people can tell you their own opinion. From my reading and understanding, I feel Yugoslavia broke up because of WW1 and WW2. I believe the wars caused them to break up. It also had to do with cultural and religious divisions between the ethnic groups.

The Yugoslavian war happened because the country was created as a federation of different ethics states. The one central government was no longer stron enough to keep them together. That's when everything began to fall apart. Another reason why it broke up is because Slovenia, Croatia, and Macedonia wanted independence but the Yugoslavian president Slobodan Milosevic refused to do what they wanted.
