Since she wanted to stop giving into segregation she refused to give her seat up to a white man. After she did this the bus driver called the cops and Rosa Parks was fined and arrested for not following the bus drivers orders. Rosa Parks being arrested got the attention of a lot of African-Americans because she was part of the NAACP. One of the African-Americans was Martin Luther King Jr.. He helped organize the Montgomery bus boycott. The Montgomery bus boycott started in 1955 and ended in 1956. The boycott went to the U.S. Supreme Court and they ruled it unconstitutional. The Montgomery bus boycott ended with Montgomery's buses being desegregated.

When Rosa Parks was on her way home from work on December 1, 1955 a bus driver told her and 3 other African-Americans to stand up so a white man could sit is their spot. Rosa Parks refused to give up her seat causing her to get fined and arrested. She also got death threats because she was one of the major components in the Montgomery bus boycott.
