Dancing since age of 3, Elena Nayiri has studied with world renowned dancers such as Sadie Marquardt, Shahrzad Khosrandi, Dalia Carella, Jehan Kamal, Aszmara Sherry plus numerous workshops with stars such as Tito Seif, Saida, Yousry Sharif, Anahid Sofian and many more.

Elena is also an avid salsa dancer, has performed as a soloist in Brazilian Samba dance company, and studies flamenco and Afro-Cuban dances. She collaborates and performs with the amazing and innovative jazz band TELAVANA interweaving the Middle Eastern and the Caribbean charms and flavors. She performs weekly in venues across NYC.

Ardent vocalist, Malaya Sol feels at-home in New York City after a decade of musical journeys originating from the Zambales region of the Philippines, where she was born. Through performing a myriad of music richly influenced by traveling as a soloist and a member of various musical groups, she organically developed into World Music, Jazz and Soul. One experiencing her music may conclude as Allen Foster described in his review on AXS.com, "...an incredible excursion that traveled both around the globe and through time...Her tone is a divine gossamer spun from opulent gold fibers, and her intimate style of delivery is utterly captivating."

Malaya often collaborates with numerous musicians in various musical practices, – priding herself to fully embody music not only in different disciplines but also 'in tongues' . She's often featured by Itai Kriss & TELAVANA, singing songs in Spanish, Hebrew and Arabic, and collaborates with dance artists, notably with the astounding Elena Nayiri.

Curated by Kaeshi Chai, DJAM NYC is a live music and dance event taking place every week and featuring music and belly dancers from around the world.
