IMS/MNC News September '17

IMS/MNC Custodial Staff: Every summer our custodial staff does tremendous work cleaning up after the just finished school year and getting classrooms ready for the next year. There were only two weeks the entire summer where there weren’t students in the building for one program or another, ESY, Targeted Services, or MNC. Kevin and his team are masters of juggling the schedule to get all our spaces ready and coordinate painting and other building improvement activities.

I’d like to compliment both the entire MNC team and the IMS 6th grade team who welcomed our new 6th graders this year. I’ve had the opportunity to talk with many 6th graders and they have all said how much they like their teachers, wow! The transition from elementary to middle school can be scary for students and parents, these teachers help make this transition much smoother for all our students and their families. Rachel Heppner, school nurse; Lisa Bingham, school nurse; Officer Adam Gau, school resource officer; Curtis Gustafson, MNC math teacher; Ryan Kolbeck, health teacher; Bret Lemm, PE teacher. These professionals all had a hand in planning and/or executing a great emergency response demonstration in collaboration with Allina Medical, Isanti Police, and the Isanti County Sheriff’s Department. Their hard work and willingness to try innovative ways to ensure the safety of our students and staff is to be commended. Watch footage from the drill featured on KSTP.

Melissa Randall and Jane Ammon are consummate professionals. Melissa and Jane are the the first faces most visitors to our building see. They are great ambassadors for our school and our school district. They are friendly, kind and greet staff, students and families with respect. They never hesitate to assist anyone in need and are genuinely pleased to do so. Submitted by Terri Emmons

I would like to consider the staff at IMS/MNC. We are like a family outside our own families. Our group comes together to help each other, every day, no matter the circumstance. We truly care about one another. At our school we laugh, joke, and support one another personally and professionally. There is not a day that goes by that I don't laugh with my colleagues. Without them, our building would not be the same caring and supportive environment. It makes coming to work an absolute joy and I am grateful for our whole group. Submitted Anonymously
