Mori Point Pacifica, california

Not the most attractive entrance...

But the views!

This area doesn't have long trails, but it does have an incline, and once at the top, you can choose your own adventure.

I got to go with some of mom's friends and Charley. Even though we went in August it was cloudy and breezy in Pacifica, which is fine by me!

The entrances to the park are surrounded by protected land, so Charley and I stayed on leash until we got to the top. In fact, walking around the base and along the boardwalk, the majority of dogs were kept on leash - so definitely follow the rules here.

Just follow the path and keep going straight...

It's easy enough to make your way to the hilltop, which is a flat viewing area of the pier and Pacific Ocean.

From this point you can go back down either by the same trail or Bootleggers Stairs.

Or you can keep going!

If you keep going there are clear paths, but they're not official trails. We kept going which meant me and Charley could run free!

Choose your own path

When do I get my treat? Grrr...

The trails/paths are pretty much all hard packed dirt so make sure you wear something with traction! Also, like with a lot of hikes with ocean views, walkways are along the cliffs so you want to be careful if you're not good at gauging heights.

We ended up walking to a hilltop until the path got too steep and then turned around and just made our way back. In total, it probably ended up being about a 3 mile hike.

Your fur parents want to know:

  • No, this is not a fenced enclosure
  • No, there are no doggy (or human) water fountains
  • Yes, there are poop bags (only at the entrance)
  • Yes, there are trash bins (only by the boardwalk, not on the trail)
  • Yes, there are benches (at the clearing at the top of Bootleggers Steps)
  • No, there are no toilets (at least not yet; they're building them)
