Clovis

Clovis was first king of the Franks, he becomes king at age 15.

He converts to Christianity on the battle field. He prays for victory and his prayers are answered.

Clovis expands the power base.

Charlemagne

Charlemagne is the Frankish king that brought people together.

He expanded the Frankish empire to rule a larger part of Europe.

He had many new improvements to make in his rule. He made a strong government, written law, and education.

Pepin the Short

Pepin the Short was the king that established the Carolingian Empire.

The pope anointed Pepin king, this was very important back in the day

He helped strengthen the ties between the catholic church and and franks.
