The start of disney

Everything start at one man: Walter Elias (Walt) Disney alias Walt Disney. He was born in 1901 on December the 5th in Chicago and died in 1966 on December the 15th in Los Angeles. He had 3 brothers and 1 sister. When he was 16 he tried to get a job in the army, but he was too young to accepted. He goes to France as a driver for the Red Cross. In 1919 he went back to America where he find a job as a drawer in Kansas City. In 1925 he married with Lillian Bounds and together they get 1 daughter: Diane, but in 1936 they adopt one another girl, Sharon.

Walt founded Disney together with his brother Roy. He knew that he was a man from ideas not from making stuff. In the beginning he drawed some stuff by self but later he hired some drawers to make some movies for him under the name Walt Disney. Walt had a good feelings about humor and his company growed and growed and it actually still growing.

Disney Movies

There are on this moment about 400 movies from Disney. The most known movies are: the little Mermaid, Alladin, 101 Dalmatians, Bambi, Jungle book, Pinocchio, Dumbo, the Lion king, Beauty and the Beast, Snow white and the Seven Dwarfs. Also very well-known movies are: Brave, Frozen, Monsters University, Zootopia, Big Hero 6 and the new movie Moana.

The films were the first product of Disney that were produced but each year again there coming new movies. One of the first movies that been created were the movies off Mickey Mouse. He won lots of prizes with that movie and this movie is one of the best watched movies from Disney, Mickey Mouse is still on TV!

Disneyland California

Beforehand

The very first Disney park was open in 1955 on July the 17th in California. It is called Disneyland Resort and includes the 2 following parts: Disneyland Park (July the 17th in 1955) and Disney California Adventure Park (February the 8 in 2001). This park is about 2.000.000 square meters.

Disneyland Park

Disneyland Park original includes 6 themed areas: Main Street U.S.A., New Orleans Square, Fantasyland, Adventureland, Frontierland and Tomorrowland. Later, there are two areas added: Critter Country (1988) and Mickey’s Toontown.

Main Street U.S.A

When you enter this park is this the first area that you enter. The creator of this area want to create an area that feels like America in the begin of 20th century. A 'main street' is a concept that used to point out the high street of a city. In America is this street a street full of little and cozy shops. At the end of this street in Disneyland Park, you will find the Castle of the Sleeping Beauty. This street you will find in Disneyland Park Anaheim, Magic Kingdom, Disneyland Park Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland and in Tokyo you will find as the World Bazaar.

Main Street U.S.A

New Orleans Square

This area you will find only in Disneyland Park, like the name is saying this is a themed area where the creator tried to get the feeling like you get in the 19 century in New Orleans. In this themed area you will find Pirates of the Caribbean and the Haunted Mansion.

Fantasyland

This area is amazing! A fantasy land with lots of fairy tales in it, also lots of Disney characters. Most of the most-known classic fairy tales used to create this beauty area. The attractions are family attractions. This area you will find in Disneyland Park in Anaheim, Magic Kingdom, Tokyo Disneyland, Disneyland Park in Paris, Hong Kong Disneyland and Shanghai Disneyland.

Adventure Land

This is a area for adventurers. Lots of wild attractions with high speed, but also some beauty attractions where you can find the beautiful nature and surroundings from the far travels from adventurers. Attractions like Indiana Jones adventure and Jungle cruise.

Frontierland

The theme of this area is the Wild West. First there were lots of simple attractions like riding a horse or hiking trails, but now there are more attractions like Big Thunder Mountain Railroad. The riverbed of the River of America seats the public to look at the evening show: Fantasmic. In Tokyo Disneyland is this area called Westernland, because there is now exact translation in Japanese for Frontierland. And in Hong Kong Disneyland there is no Frontierland only something that look a like it: Grizzly Gulch. This area you will find in Disneyland Park Anaheim, Magic Kingdom, Tokyo Disneyland, Disneyland Park Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland.

Tomorrowland

Aerospace is the theme of this area, attractions like Space Mountains and Buzz Lightyear Laser Blast are in all of the parks with this theme found. You will ind this area in Disneyland Park Anaheim, Magic Kingdom, Hong Kong Disneyland, Tokyo Disneyland and Shanghai Disneyland. In Disneyland Park Paris is this area called Discovery Island, because the french thought that Tomorrowland to hard was to speak for the french.

Disney California Adventure Park

Disney California Adventure Park count 7 themed areas: Buena Vista Street, Hollywood Land, A Bug’s Land, Cars Land, Pacific Wharf, Paradise Pier and Grizzly Peak. There are 29 attractions.

Buena Vista Street

The theme is a nostalgic look on California, without being a historically accurate. It focuses on place where dream come true. This is the entrance zone from the park, the style of the entry plaza is Streamline design. You only find this area in this park not in other theme parks and resorts.

Hollywood Land

Like the theme is saying, everything in this street has to do with Hollywood. There are no attractions only shops, cafes, a cinema, an animation building and a show. The only real attraction is the boarding point for the Red Car Trolleys. A bus that transport you to A Bug's Land. At the end of this street you will find the divide square and Monsters Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue!

A Bug's Land

The idea of this area is incredible, everything is based on the movie: a bug's life. The idea is that the visitors become insects and that you see everything in the aspect how insects the world seeing. At the end of the way you have to walk under a big box, and after it you will come in the Pacific Wharf. Attractions in this area are: Francis Ladybug Boogie, It's Though To Be A Bug, Princess Dot Puddle Park and lots more.

Cars Land

The theme of Cars Land focuses on the city Radiator Springs in the movie Cars. This area is build around one dead end headway with side streets. A side way leads to Luigi's Rollickin' Roadsters and after it A Bug's Land. At the end of the dead end headway you will find the big attraction Radiator Springs Racers. This attraction includes with her raceway the whole area!

Pacific Wharf

This area is divided in two other area, one is focused on the wine growing in Napa Valley and the other area is focused on Fisherman's Wharf in San Francisco. It share one of his borders with Cars Land. The only attractions is The Bakery Tour. The rest of the area is filled with cafes and restaurants. In 0 other park you find this area only here.

Paradise Pier

This area located along a lake called Paradise Bay. The area is just what the name is saying, build on a pier. There are lots of cafes and carnival games, but also the Mickey's Fun Wheel and Goofy's Sky School. One show is played in the evening, World of Color.

Grizzly Peak

The crowd puller is the rock in the shape of a grizzly bear called: Grizzly peak. This rock is part of Grizzly River Run. The area is created with the idea to create a nature park, and it actually worked. It become a beautiful area that all nature lovers love.

Walt Disney World Resort

Beforehand

Walt Disney World Resort opened in Florida on October the 1st in 1971. It contains Magic Kingdom (October the 1st in 1971), Epcot (October the 1st in 1982), Disney’s Hollywood Studios (May the 1st in 1989) and Disney’s Animal Kingdom (April the 22th in 1998). This park is about 121.000.000 square meters!

Magic Kingdom

It contains 7 themed areas: Main Street U.S.A., Adventureland, Frontierland, Liberty Square, Fantasyland, Mickey’s Toontown Fair and Tomorrowland. There are 28 attractions in this park.

Epcot

This park consist of two big areas: Future World and World Showcase. World Showcase is build around a big lake where pavilions of 11 different countries can be seen. There are 18 attractions in this park.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Like the name is saying, this part of the park is a movie and theater themed park. It show the cliché image of Hollywood. There are 6 themed areas: Hollywood Boulevard, Echo Lake, Muppet Courtyard, Pixar Place, Animation Courtyard and Sunset Boulevard. There are 9 attractions in this part of the park.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom

Disney’s Animal Kingdom contains original 7 themed areas but in 2014 Disney closed and demolished Camp Minnie-Mickey to make room for a new themed area: Pandore - The World of Avator, this part is still not finished. The other 6 themed areas are: Africa, Asia, Discovery Island, Dinoland U.S.A, Oasis and Rafiki’s Planet Watch.

Tokyo Disney Resort

Beforehand

Tokyo Disney Resort was opened in Tokyo on April the 15th in 1983. It includes Tokyo Disneyland (April the 15th in 1983) and Tokyo DisneySea (September the 4th in 2001). This park is about 46.000 square meters.

Tokyo Disneyland

Tokyo Disneyland includes 7 themed areas: World Bazaar, Adventureland, Westernland, Critter Country, Fantasyland, Toontown and Tomorrowland. There are 19 attractions in this part of Tokyo Disneyland.

Tokyo DisneySea

There are 23 attractions in this park. This is the only park together with Tokyo Disneyland who not belongs to Disney, it belongs to The Oriental Land Company.

Beforehand

Disneyland Paris was opened in Paris on April the 12th in 1992. It contains Disneyland Park (April the 12th in 1992) and Walt Disney Studios Park (March the 16th in 2002). This park is about 19.430.000 square meters.

Disneyland Park

This park is build in the style of the first park, in the middle the castle of the sleepy beauty with around it the 5 themed areas: Main Street U.S.A, Frontierland, Discoveryland, Adventureland and Fantasyland. There are 34 attractions in this Park.

Walt Disney’s Studios

Walt Disney’s Studios contain 4 themed areas: Frontlot, Toon Studio, Production Courtland and Backlot. In total there are 12 attractions.

Hong Kong Disney Resort

Beforehand

Hong Kong Disney Resort was opened in Hong Kong on September the 12th in 2005. This park is about 1.300.000 square meters.

Hong Kong Disney Resort

Hong Kong Disney Resort includes 7 themed parks: Main Street U.S.A, Adventureland, Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, Toy Story Land, Grizzly Gulch and Mystic Point. There are 33 attraction.

On this moment there are 12 Disney Parks (6 parks with underlying more parks), the youngest one is the Disney park in Shanghai. It was opened on June the 16th in 2016. This park is about 3.890.000 square meters.

This is the most recent park of Disney, build in 2016. It contains 6 themed areas: Mickey Avenue, Gardens of Imagination, Tomorrowland, Fantasyland, Treasure Cove, Adventure Isle.
