To get started on the right foot through thoughtful dialog and community, we're launching Gmail for Students with a District-wide competition, "Rap and Rollout Contest: Gmail for students is best, not messed."

Contest Rules:

  • Message: Students at San Lorenzo Unified School District are a community of caring, thoughtful individuals who can come up with their own rules about using Gmail wisely. How do we agree to use Gmail for learning and community-building? What are our responsibilities? How will we show respect for each other?
  • Resources: Suggested starting points are the ISTE Standards for Students (website | Flocabulary video), the District web page on Digital Citizenship, Flocabulary's YouTube video on "Internet Safety," and Common Sense Media.
  • Scoring: Judges will determine the top finalists for each division using a 100-point rubric: Message (30), Rhyming (20), Rhythm (20), Originality (20), Technical Quality (10),
  • Divisions: First and second place winners will be chosen for students in grades 2-5, middle school, and high school.
  • Submission Deadline: Use the entry form below to submit the link to your music or video file by 5 p.m on Monday, November 13. One entry per student/team, please.
