Neptune The eighth planet


In roman mythology, Neptune was the god of the sea. In 1613, Galileo first sighted Neptune. At first, he thought it was just a star, but soon realized that it was a planet. Neptune has been visited only once by a spacecraft, on Aug 25 1989.


Neptune is 24,622 km. The weight is 17.15 M⊕ and Neptune is 4.5 billion years old. Inside, it is made of hydrogen, helium, methane gas, water, ammonia, methane ices, rock and ice. It is blue with red-ish rings. The temperature is -353 Fahrenheit.
