Little Did She Know LATASHANNA RANSOM

On August 15,2015 She took her first stepping stone , not knowing if the choice was right for her by attending " The Hinds Community College" in Raymond Ms. Latashanna's mind was made up she knew what was her dream and knew what she wanted in life , it was just up to her to make it happen.

Latashanna - Often I am asked what is your plan , I reply , my goal is to pursue my career as a Broadcast Journalist , my dream is to be a News Anchor or a Television Producer. My first goal was to attend Hinds Community College for two years and ive made it happen. This spring i will be receiving my Associates Degree in Liberal Arts , in the spring my goal is to attend The University Of Southern Mississippi while obtaining my Bachelors and later Georgia State University where will receive my Bachelors , my Motto is " The Sky is NOT the Limit , just a great place to start. " My beautiful Mother and outgoing sisters has definitely help mold me for who I am today and all that I dream of to be in the future. My mother Natalie Ransom is my ALL , i will give anything to make sure she is taken care of , my siblings are my everything and I would give my all to make them SMILE.

I get this question alot "Why do you want to become a Broadcast Journalist?" My response is " Why Not " I want it , I want it all , i enjoy talking to people , different people , people from different types of ethnic group , different walks of life , i love to be educated. This job is for me and im going to make sure I regret nothing.

She took this dream to Hinds Community College. 1st Day at HindsCC

I was extremely Nervous , lonely and afraid , but if you know who you are it should be no problem breaking that shell.

I was afraid , but that didnt stop me from going for what i really wanted. I got involved in serval organizations , programs and events.

I stepped out of my comfort zone and joined these organizations such as IDEAL Women where i was elected as the President , Hinds Achievement Club where I once served as the secretary , Associated Student Government , Orientation Leader , Resident Assistant and apart of RHA.

Thought I only ran for Homecoming , I had no ideal i would be crowned later that night.
And your 2016-2017 "Hinds CC Homecoming Queen is Latashanna Ransom
2017 Spring Graduate"Thank God I made it "

My stepping stones having meaning behind them. No matter what position you hold, rank that position high and with honor. With each step comes responsibility. No duty is greater than the other, because whether you are secretary, vice president, or president… you all still have separate tasks at hand.

We all are the Ideal women that society should express. My encouraging words are that you don’t have to be everybody’s cup of tea, and that’s okay. Politely wave them along and you move away as well. Seek to share your path to those who recognize and appreciate your gifts. Be who you are, because you all have something special to give.

With love, your spring 2016-2017 Hinds Community College Miss Homecoming Queen
