2019 McDaniel Men's Soccer Week 12: November 12-17

ECAC Bound

The Green Terror makes its second ECAC tournament appearance in the last three years. In 2017, McDaniel travelled to Lebanon Valley and defeated Alvernia 2-1 in double overtime in the opening round before falling to the Dutchmen a day later 1-0 in the quarterfinals. This time around, the Green Terror earned the No. 2 overall seed and top seed in its pod, drawing NJCU in the opening round, which will take place at Widener. It is the program’s seventh ECAC tournament appearance.

A Nice Combination

Jacob Wells and Nick Starr have led the McDaniel offense all season. Wells has a team best nine goals while Starr has contributed six tallies. Wells has also contributed five assists for a team-best 23 points while Starr has a team-high seven helpers and ranks second with 19 points. In the 13 games in which the Green Terror has scored a goal this year, either Wells or Starr registered at least one point in 11 of them. The only two in which they didn’t were 1-0 wins in which the only goal was a PK by Randy Hilleary. Wells and Starr both registered at least one point in eight games this season.

One is a Lonely Number

McDaniel played 11 one-goal games this season, including seven of its final eight conference games on the year. Of those 11 one-goal games, eight were 1-0 finals. The Green Terror went 6-5 in one-goal games this season but 5-3 in 1-0 decisions.
