Bring Your own cup day Live Stream 2017 Proposal by XI Media Productions

BYOCup Day broadcast

The live stream will convey the energy and style of a live sports "Game Day" broadcast complete with pumped up fans, custom motion graphics, pre-recorded "live bumps" across the country as well as direct social engagement throughout including Instagram and Twitter pulls / references.

We will utilize the space to create an engaging broadcast moving from live interview of fans in the parking lot to live "filling moments" inside the store using a wireless camera.

Production plan

Our team proposes using a four camera set up, plus the additional sources utilizing graphics and live pre-recorded packages. We would use two cameras at the host desk, one on a master wide / medium and the other to capture ISO shots of each host. A third camera will be on a small jib to offer sweeping shots to move us in and out of segments. The fourth camera on site will be wireless to allow for live interviews on the grounds both inside and outside the 7-Eleven store.

Show flow

We kick off the live broadcast on Facebook Live with intro graphics announcing the start of the event, we then cut to a sweeping jib move out wide show off the entire space. Cut to a two shot of the hosts, allow time for intros and cross talk and an introduction to what BYO Cup Day is all about.

Next we cut to a single shot of talent tossing to a pre-recorded package highlighting scenes from another 7-Eleven store earlier in the day. We can denote the time difference via gfx if we choose. Out of that package we can cue our second host who will be live with our first in person interview highlighting their cup of choice for the day. Toss back to set and we can create a flow of these elements to engage the audience for one to two hours.

Throughout the broadcast we will call out social media users and highlight the best of the best Cups. At the end of the show our hosts will announce the winner of the Best BYO Cup Day Cup for 2017.

We say goodbye on camera, then cut to the jib shot pulling out from set with screaming fans all around waving goodbye. We close on a "Thank You For Bringing Your Own Cup" closing graphic for 5-10 minutes. The stream ends and will be archived on Facebook live immediately.

The goal will be to keep the broadcast moving at a fairly quick pace to keep online engagement up and to highlight the amazing energy surrounding the event. It will feel well produced yet maintain a level of self awareness and not take itself too seriously.

Our work

Our biggest live show production along the lines of the 7-Eleven Bring Your Own Cup Day event would have to be the AMD - 30 Years of Graphics and Gaming event in 2015. Arts and Labor brought in our team to produce the live stream which including everything from live directing, stream engineer, handling audio and stage managing. We are all very proud at how it came together.

We produced live Q&A sessions for film premieres at the Alamo Drafthouse in conjunction with our friends at Arts + Labor for a couple of years. Films included The Fault in Our Stars, The Maze Runner and a very special screening of The Princess Bride featuring a Q&A with Cary Elwes.

We have produced every year of The Fader Fort live stream at SXSW (minus 2016 when they took it in house...we came back in '17). The level of brand and band integration here has always been through the roof delivering for Converse, Dell, Levi's Toyota and more. Our all time favorite act to shoot at The Fort will forever be Matt and Kim.

Our team has been trusted by Rolling Stone for years to produce their live content featuring artists such as The Flaming Lips, Tom Morello, The Roots and this personal fave for the Bacardi "Rebels" program in 2014 featuring Macklemore and Ryan Lewis.

We produced "Live from T5" for about a year with jetBlue. This program found us shooting live performances and interviews with artists such as Ryn Weaver, Aloe Blac, Vance Joy and the below Goodie Mob. What was amazing about producing this was knowing that our work was shown on every single jetBlue flight in front of a captive audience for a month at a time. Needless to say these videos were seen by a very large audience.

Thanks you for the opportunity to bid on this project and we very much hope to be CRUSHING this event with you come August. Please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions / thoughts / concerns you may have. We look forward to working with you soon!
