HALLOWEEN PARADES AND PARTIES:

We will hold our Halloween parade and parties on Tuesday, October 31. We will start with the parade at 2:00pm followed by classroom parties at 2:15 pm. Weather permitting, the parade will take place on the track behind the school. If the weather does not cooperate, the parade will be inside. For classrooms that have students with food allergies, please do not send in any food (treats) that have not been approved by the room parent or teacher. Remember, these allergies can be life threatening.

COSTUME REMINDERS:

We’d like to remind parents of our school policies regarding costumes:

Students may not wear their costumes OR makeup, special hair sprays, etc. to school. All costumes are to be brought to school in a bag. Please do not plan a costume that is ghoulish, morbid, in any way offensive or excessively frightening to younger children. No masks are to be worn. Toy guns, knives or other weapons may not be worn, even if it is a part of your child’s costume.

HALLOWEEN CANDY COLLECTION

Troy Youth Assistance (TYA) is once again doing a collection of unwanted/excess Halloween candy at Hill to donate to other action agencies. Collection runs through Thursday, 11/2. Look for the big orange bin in the office to drop the candy in.

KAISER STUDIO RETAKE DAY

Picture Retake Day (K-5) and Preschool picture day is scheduled for Thursday, November 2. If you are unhappy with your child’s picture or if your child was absent the day pictures were taken, please send your child to school ready to have his/her picture taken. For retakes, your child must return the original package intact and bring it on the day of retakes.

BUILDING AND SITE SINKING FUND 2017

On Tuesday, November 7th , you will be asked to decide an important issue in the November election. The Troy School District is asking voters to consider a 1 mill Building and Site Sinking Fund. This fund would be created at NO INCREASE TO YOUR CURRENT TAX RATE and would allow us to make necessary repairs and refurbishments to HILL ELEMENTARY and the rest of our schools.

If you have questions about this proposal, there is lots of information and a FAQ link on the TSD website:

Or, please reach out to Anne Sackrison or Donna O'Reilly. They have been the Hill representatives for the Citizens and Parents for Education Committee. They would be happy to give you more information about this proposal.
