FROM A SOPHOMORE CLASS FULL OF STATE CHAMPIONS

And yet, Saturday afternoon at the Condors' Nest, it was the freshmen who punched the Oxnard College men's soccer team's return ticket to the state Final Four.

"This proves we're not a fluke," Oxnard coach Ross Greaney said. "It proves it wasn't a once-in-a-lifetime run."

Oxnard (14-2-8) will face Fresno City (18-1-4), Northern California's top seed, in Friday's state semifinals at Ventura College.
