Notre Dame defeats crosstown rival Chattanooga Christian School (55 - 18), but loses a hard fought battle to Red Bank (37 - 38). Thomas Loher (106) and Doogan Boyd (195) show incredible grit, despite the dual loss. The split moves Notre Dame to 5 - 2.
Notre Dame tops Central (49 - 30), Sequatchie (66 - 12) and Sale Creek (69 - 9): Harrison Nichol (120), Doogan Boyd (195), Jacob Brigman (220) and Kobe Bragg (285) register BIG pins. Irish move to 8 - 2.
THANK YOU to all the Notre Dame Wrestling Alumni for their attendance and support on Alumni Night. Notre Dame defeats Howard (66 - 18), Tyner (73 - 6), and Whitwell (58 - 22) and improves to 11 - 2.
Congratulations to alum Yogi Anderson and his induction into the Greater Chattanooga Sports Hall of Fame. Yogi becomes the 5th Notre Dame wrestler to join the HOF.
Notre Dame falls to Stone Memorial (37 - 33), but rebounds vs. Ooltewah (54 - 11) and Walker Valley (43 - 30). The 2 - 1 record at the Walker Valley Duals moves Notre Dame to 13 - 3 on the season.
Despite giving up 4 forfeits Notre Dame defeats Signal Mountain (40 - 32) and Brainerd (60 - 0). The wins improve Notre Dame to 15 - 3 on the season. Seniors Ned Warwick (126), David Hodges (145) and Kobe Bragg (285) each register pins; along with a MONSTER pin from Jacob Brigman (220).
Notre Dame defeats Boyd Buchanan (52 - 12) and East Ridge (57 - 10), and advances to the State Duals! The crew has been working incredibly hard and it's fun to see their success mirror their output. Notre Dame ends the regular dual season at 17 - 3.
Y-CAP is an intervention/prevention program that works with students between the ages of 10-14 who have been referred through the juvenile court or school systems. After afternoon tutor sessions and an evening dinner the students of the program partake in boxing sessions (even competing at times). Many of the students are in need of wrestling shoes and Notre Dame Wrestling is asking it's alumni and fans to donate any used or old wrestling shoes (adult sizes) to the Y-CAP Program. Shoes can be dropped off at NDHS; just email Coach Mansueto at beforehand. The Notre Dame wrestling team will also be donating 10+ wrestling shoes at seasons end, along with book-bags and t-shirts.
