1953: Insta-Burger is founded in Jacksonville, FL, by Keith Kramer and Matthew Burns. 1954: James McLamore and David Edgerton purchase Insta-Burger King and rename it to Burger King.
The Whopper was created in 1957 by Burger King by James McLamore and was sold for $.37 ($3.27 in 2014)
1963, Burger King opens its first International restaurant in Puerto Rico
In 1967, the Pillsbury Company bought Burger King Corporation for $18n million dollars.

In 1975, drive-thru service began and by 1977, Burger King had 2000 stores in 3 countries

The Chicken Burger was introduced in 2016 in the US and Canada and is Burger King's 2nd non-beef hamburger and it costs $3.89 (Limited time only)
