ATRANS Service Planning & Asset Study

BACKGROUND

The Alexandria-Pineville Metropolitan Planning Organization is conducting an in-depth evaluation of service and assets provided by Alexandria Transit (ATRANS) to maximize ridership and efficiency to get the most out of local and federal tax dollars invested in the urban transit service.

ATRANS must match its services to market demands by providing more services where demand is greater and less where demand in lower. From this study, the team will recommend routing, asset, and service adjustments to better serve existing and potential riders; taking into account possible small-scale regional expansion for increased workforce and healthcare access.

Your Input needed:

Have your say about how to improve the Alexandria Transit System - ATRANS!

Let's work together to identify gaps in connectivity, accessibility, ridership experience, and efficiency in the transit network. Some trips made by transit today could be better, and some might not even be possible!

How to share your Ideas:

We’d love to hear from you whether you ride transit or not, your input is very important. There are lots of ways to weigh in on your vision for transit in our area. Learn a bit more about them below when you’re ready!

Identifying Benefits and Barriers to Transit

We want to hear your stories about public transit. What are the benefits of using transit and having it in your neighborhood? What barriers make it difficult for you to get where you need to go?

Transit Gaps

Some trips made by transit today could be better, and some might not even be possible! Help identify gaps in connectivity, accessibility, ridership experience, and efficiency in the transit network.

We'll be thinking what projects could make your journey better, but need your help identifying places that could be better connected with more frequent service, better sidewalks and stops, new lines, etc.

Show us on the MAP

We need your feedback on not only what the gaps you experience are, but where they are. We want to know where you experience gaps in transit. This map exercise can help us think of ways to fill these gaps in a later stage of the plan. Time to draw on the map!

TAKE THE SURVEY

Answering these questions will help us identify the places that could be better connected via transit, and will inform the recommendations that could help improve ATRANS.

Don't worry, this survey can be completely anonymous--no login is required. Either way, we do not share personal information at all!
