All-State Music Educator’s Awards:

Wheeler is very proud of its musicians who ranked so highly among large public and other private schools. Bravo! (Pictured above: Choral All-State Award Winners)

Vol. 1 Issue 13

Students in Wheeler’s Video Broadcasting Course created a short video to explain and promote reading screenings offered by the Hamilton Institute for Outreach and Advocacy. Through their Upper School course, students used Wheeler's Digital Production Studio to storyboard, shoot, edit and collaborate with each other, faculty and Aerie professionals. We thank the class for its efforts on behalf of Hamilton.

This Week

This Week at Wheeler: We recognized over 30 athletes and signed off on an incredible fall season during our fall sports awards ceremony. Whamilton the Whale came to life before the eyes of our 3rd grade scientists (and their parents!) and get your spy emoji out because the mystery door got a bit more mysterious. The Performing Arts Department found themselves in the winners' circle at the RI Music Educator's All State Awards and did you know we have another public art project on Thayer St? Ribbon cutting coming soon. Our Mental Health Awareness Club welcomed Therapy Dog Luna, and Alumna Denielle Finkelstein `94 visited our Empowerment Club, who helped pack bags of #TopOrganicproject sanitary products to be donated to Amos House. 7 amazing US students hopped a plane to Seattle Washington to do some impressive work at the 2019 People of Color Conference, and did you hear? Muffins & More has a new date. Phew, that's what we missed and what's happening! I'm feeling caught up, are you?

Top (L-R): Faculty collaborating during Tuesday's professional development day, our group of students and faculty attending the People of Color Conference in Seattle, WA, our 3rd graders with Whamilton the Whale. Middle (L-R) Alumni Basketball Game, and the Alumni Soccer Game. Bottom (L-R) Our US Choral singers and our Hamilton 8th Grade students at HomeDepot to pick up 4x8s to decorate and later used in projects for Habitat for Humanity.

Important Tidbits

Enrollment Office Seeks Parent Ambassadors: While Wheeler has been fortunate to have many parents and guardians volunteer to be Mentor Families for the newly-enrolled each year, we realize more can be done to assist families as they make the important decision to choose a school. A new Prospective Parent Ambassador Network is forming now to assist our Enrollment Office to speak to prospective families on why Wheeler and Hamilton are the right choice for one’s family. If you're interested in learning more about this PPAN group, please contact the Wheeler Enrollment Office

Great News: On the heels of Wheeler Giving Day and as the holidays are approaching, there are 2 ways to support Wheeler with activities you might already be doing.
