Week Three: Army at No. 8 Ohio State Buckeyes, Black Knights set for first-ever meeting

KNOW THY OPPONENT

Army West Point was originally established as a fort that sits on strategic high ground overlooking the Hudson River with a scenic view, 50 miles (80 km) north of New York City. It is one of the four U.S. military service academies, and one of the five U.S. service academies. The Academy traces its roots to 1801, when President Thomas Jefferson directed, shortly after his inauguration, that plans be set in motion to establish the United States Military Academy at West Point. The entire central campus is a national landmark and home to scores of historic sites, buildings, and monuments. The majority of the campus's Norman-style buildings are constructed from gray and black granite. The campus is a popular tourist destination complete with a large visitor center and the oldest museum in the United States Army.

FIVE NOTES TO KNOW

At Ohio State, Meyer is 5-1 when coming off a loss with an average margin of victory of 28.8 points per game.

Ohio State ranks No. 2 in the Big Ten and No. 13 nationally giving up just 60.5 yards rushing/game. Army is No. 2 nationally in rush offense at 417.5 yards/game.

The crowd of 109,088 last Saturday vs. Oklahoma was the second largest in Ohio Stadium history and the No. 1 crowd all-time for a home opener.

Freshman RB J.K. Dobbins followed up his 181-yard effort in week one at Indiana with 72 yards on 13 carries and his first collegiate touchdown last Saturday vs. Oklahoma.

Seven of Drue Chrisman's 10 punts this season have been downed inside the opponents 20 yard line.
