Mustangs Off to Program Best Start

Stevenson has won five of its first six games, including three straight. The Mustangs have outscored their opponents, 25-8, including 11-1 over the last two games. Stevenson has already posted more than half its conference wins from a season ago, through just five conference games.

Scouting the Mustangs

Stevenson has had eighteen different players record a point this season, including 11 skaters who have scored a goal. Senior Nick Gray has a team-high seven goals, one shy of his career-high, including four on the power play. Sophomore Ryan Patrick has a team-best nine assists, only eight shy of tying the single season record. In net, freshman Ryan Kenny has started the last three games and has stopped 60 of his 62 shots.

Streaking

Five different players are currently riding a point streak. Both senior Nick Gray and sophomore Ryan Patrick has recorded a point in all six games this season. The trio of senior Dominic Brenza, junior Carl Lyden, and freshman Austin Master all have a point in their last two games, while both Brenza and Master have a point in four of their last give games.

Scouting the Green Knights

St. Norbert has dropped its last three games, including a 2-1 overtime loss its last time out. The Green Knights are averaging just 1.6 goals per game while allowing 2.6 goals per game. St. Norbert is 0-for-39 on the power play. Peter Bates leads the team with seven points and four goals while Peyton Frantti has a team-best four assists. Ryan Bontorin has started all eight games and has posted a 2.38 goals against average and a .913 save percentage.

Stevenson vs. St. Norbert

In the first meeting last season, St. Norbert posted a 3-0 victory on home ice. Kurt Black scored a pair of goals in the win while Luke Davison dished out two assists. The Green Knights were 1-for-2 on the power play while the Mustangs went 0-for-3.

Scouting the Vikings

After starting the season 0-5-0, Lawrence is unbeaten in its last three, having outscoring its opponents, 7-3, during that stretch. The Vikings are 6-for-49 on the power play and 43-for-50 on the penalty kill. Jake Drinkard leads the team with seven points and five goals while Curtis Weyerhaeuser has a team-best five assists. Three different players have started in net for Lawrence, including Alex Mosquera who has started the last three.

Stevenson vs. Lawrence

The two teams first met last season in Wisconsin with the Mustangs coming away with a 1-0 victory. Nick Gray scored the game's lone goal just 36 seconds into the second period. Stevenson went 0-for-6 on the power play while Lawrence was 0-for-5. The Mustangs outshot the Vikings, 29-26.
