Vickery Creek Middle School Fear less. do more. viper up!

VCMS, home of the Vipers, opened with 700 students in 1999. It was named after the community, Vickery Creek, in which it is located. Vickery Creek is named after a Cherokee woman named Sharlot Vickery that lived in present-day Roswell and owned much of the land around the creek. The creek was originally called Cedar Creek; however, the name was changed to Vickery some time after the arrival of Roswell King and family in 1834. The building was a new construction prototype, which has been replicated across the county multiple times and also modified into a two-story design. It received classroom additions and renovations in 2002.

Mr. Scott Feldkamp

My goal is to honor our community's rich history and tradition of excellence. This will take all of our efforts: parents, students, community members, teachers and administrators. I am confident VCMS will flourish and our students will be prepared to take on the world!

The Forsyth County Schools Learner Profile is the work of our school district. It is displayed in every classroom. The Learner Profile lists the attributes we expect all students to possess by the time they graduate from one of our high schools. This profile keeps student learning at the heart of all decision-making.

VCMS believes that literacy connects all content areas. Our teachers pride themselves on delivering rigorous instruction by having dialogue that centers around academic discourse. All of our 6th and 7th grade students have a daily reading class based on principles from Donalyn Miller's approach to reading engagement.

VCMS offers a wide variety of clubs and activities for our students to participate in. Please visit our school website at https://www.forsyth.k12.ga.us/vcms
