Tips for Conducting a Bible Study: "INAM"

Tips for conducting a bible study:

• Leading a bible study requires you to have a personal bible study of your own

• Remember when we conduct our own personal bible study it provides an opportunity to connect with God and develop a deeper understand of the scripture.

Moses instructed Joshua on the art of bible study in Joshua 1:8

“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success”.

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. Joshua 1:8

Tips for studying:

• Pray before studying

• Read a Psalm and Proverb a day

(these are small section of scripture but they are power packed with instant life application)

• When you study a group of scriptures read over them serval times.

• Several questions you can ask yourselves and others:

• What does this mean to me or you?

• What is scripture trying to teach us?

• What would I want to tell others about this scripture?

• How can we apply this to our life?

Tips for adding depth to your study:

• Use a story to illustrate what you want to teach. (Jesus used parables to help others to understand what he was trying to say).

• Don’t be afraid to use a story about yourself. Others maybe struggling with the same circumstances you are.

• Use a quote.

I found this quote on twitter today from Dimitri Flowers. It was attached to a photo of him with a group of friends at a Fellowship of Christian Athletes FCA watch party.

“Get you a good group of friends that make you the best person possible. Proverbs 27:17”

“Get you a good group of friends that make you the best person possible. Proverbs 27:17”

As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.

Proverbs 27:17

• Keep a journal

A journal will give you a place to take notes, brain storm, write down prayers, favorite scriptures and reflect over things that you have learned over a period of time.

Don’t let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in conduct, in love, in faith and in purity.

1 Timothy 4:12
