With the recent spread of the coronavirus, or the Wuhan virus, many are concerned about keeping themselves safe from infection. Here are five tips to help keep yourself free of bacteria and disease.

1. Wear masks outdoors

Wearing a mask is one of the most effective ways to prevent airborne illness. Make sure to wear it properly by tightening up the nose clip and ensuring that your mouth and nose are covered.

2. Cover your coughs and sneezes

Cover your mouth and nose with a tissue when you cough or sneeze, avoid contact with your hands at all costs.

3. Wash your hands frequently

Wash your hands before eating and after using the toilet. Ensure that you wash your hands thoroughly for 20-30 seconds and don't dry your hands on your own clothes.

4. Strengthen your immune system and regularly exercise

Regular exercise is a good way to keep your immune system healthy. In addition to bolstering your resistance to existing infections, it enhances your immune system's ability to prevent future infections.

Eat thoroughly cooked through food

Only eat thoroughly cooked meat and eggs if possible. Avoid contact with wild animals or farmed livestock without adequate protection.
