The Jacket

_________

it was cold outside

my jacket sat

on the hanger in

the closet,

my moms voice rang

through the back hall, she

kept pestering me to

get out of the door

I had a choice to make

jacket, or no jacket

on one hand I could

be warm and comfortable

all day long, on the

other hand I would freeze to death

so I went without it,

people called me insane

they were right, I was cold all

day long people still

talk to me about it today,

I always regret not

wearing that jacket, that nice

warm jacket,

and that has made all the

Difference
