Now you have planned, promoted and are in the middle of delivering your event, now you need to find out about the student and staff experience.
How can you evidence that the event was engaging? Beneficial to students? Worth all that planning? By asking for feedback.
You should be thinking about your feedback questions at the start of your planning.
When should you get student feedback?
- During the event or activity
- As the event or activity is finishing
- After the event
Societies Convenors / Sports Coaches / Associate Trainers / Faculty Reps
- At the end of a training session
- At the end of a meeting or focus group
- At the end of each block
How can you gather student feedback?
In Person
- Ask them to write a few words (Use post it notes, write on flip chart paper, or make speech bubble templates)
- Create a Short Survey using ‘Survey Monkey’ or ‘Google Docs’ and upload onto a tablet device
- For training sessions – use the short hard copy evaluation forms for attendees to fill out before they leave, these will be provided.
Digitally
- Using CitySA Social Media to promote feedback, create a poll or ask a question (an Advertising Form must be completed and approved a couple of weeks prior to the event)
Tip: If you wish to create a digital survey to send out after the event, you must gather the following information during your event:
- Name
- Student number
- Email address
