The goblin shark is a bottom dwelling shark found throughout the world. It lives in depths of 885-3150 ft. Most have been observed near continental slopes. They have a very muscular body.
Most noticeable for its elongated and flattened snout. they are usually 10-13 ft long. The smallest ever known was to be 3 ft. It is able to project out its jaw to grab and pull food it to mouth. They mainly eat shrimp, small fish, octopus, and squid.
Goblin sharks are extremely rare. They sped most of their time near the bottom of the ocean, so they are mostly only found as a by-catch of deep-water trawls. Very few have ever been filmed and have only been known about for a little over 120 years.
