Early College Notes November 4th, 2018

Winter Dual Enrollment Registration is Open!

Students who are already dual enrolled should schedule classes with JPEC Navigator Chris Kimbell. Those seeking to dual enroll for the first time should collect a Dual Enrollment Application from the main office, complete it, and schedule a meeting with Mr. Marowelli. Chris has walk-in hours on Thursdays, from 1-3 PM in the main office, and can be scheduled with outside of that time at his normal office in Bert Walker.

Dual Enrollment Applications Due November 16th

To ensure that new dual enrollees have adequate time to sign up for appropriate classes, dual enrollment applications for the Winter term will not be accepted after November 16th. Students can find the dual enrollment application in the document holder behind the front desk. After completing the application and the application essay with Mr. Marowelli, students should schedule a meeting to discuss their application through the front desk. Ms. Niki & Ms. Ramona will get you on Mr. Marowelli's schedule.

The Falcon Press

This school year has been productive for JPEC's Journalism team, as they have finished their first newspaper release of this term. The Falcon Press is a news release covering, global, local, and school news. With a quite large section for entertainment who wouldn't want a copy? In this term's first issue of The Falcon Press readers can learn about the science of fear, participate in contests, learn how to be safer on Halloween, and much more! The Falcon Press is only 50 cents for students and one dollar for adults. Please see Mrs. Sager to buy yours now!

Athletic Excellence!

A big congratulations to Eileen Warfield, Daniel Casey, and Josiah Dinverno for their awesome performances at the cross country State Championship on Saturday.

Travel with JPEC!

The next informational session for the 2021 EF Tours trip to London, Paris, Florence & Rome will be held on Tuesday, November 13th in room 158, at 4:30. Please note that this is an accredited tour, which means that EC students will be working to earn a Humanities college credit by participating in the tour experience and completing additional academic work over the course of the 2020-2021 school year. Students interested in traveling with us in 2021 should be in EC Year 2 or above at the time of travel, and must be eligible for dual-enrollment at the time of travel. Please contact Ms. Shirk with additional questions, or if you cannot make it to the meeting on November 2nd.

Don't forget to check out the newest from the Falcon Broadcast Network!

Have a great week!
