The Trump Threat Siobhán Spiak

A Brave New World (Order)

From "alternative facts" to pulling funding from U.S.-led international programs, the 45th president of the United States is unraveling the world order. President Trump's recent signing of numerous executive orders, waging a war against the media, and several leaks from within his administration demonstrate the current president is not a rational actor.

Breaking Down the Trump Threat

  • Blabber mouth - the loose cannon who's leading the free world
  • Full steam ahead - executive actions
  • Mr. Popular - the threat of Trump's narcissism on U.S. institutions and policies
  • The day after tomorrow- what's in store for us in Trump's America
"Once you are saying as Commander and Chief that the U.S. military should steal the oil from countries where our military is operating and that we might have a chance again to do that... think about what that means for U.S. troops." -Rachel Maddow, MSNBC

Cry Baby in Chief
Trump turned on the television to see a jarring juxtaposition — massive demonstrations around the globe protesting his day-old presidency and footage of the sparser crowd at his inauguration, with large patches of white empty space on the Mall. As his press secretary, Sean Spicer, was still unpacking boxes in his spacious new West Wing office, Trump grew increasingly and visibly enraged…Over the objections of his aides and advisers — who urged him to focus on policy and the broader goals of his presidency — the new president issued a decree: He wanted a fiery public response, and he wanted it to come from his press secretary.

The domestic antics already taking place are a warning sign of Trump's inability to guide the United States through the challenges that will come.

Thank you
