Who he is
Tim Tebow grew up as the son of two missionaries who focused their work in the Philippines. Tim excelled in football growing up, eventually sending him to the University of Florida to play quarterback. After winning two championships at Florida and being awarded the Heisman trophy he was drafted in the first round of the NFL draft. Tim floated around in the NFL, and is now chasing his passion for baseball in the New York mets organization along with working for the SEC network.
Tim Tebow foundation
In 2010 Tim created the Tim Tebow foundation. The Tim Tebow foundation works in many ways. Parts of the foundation include orphan care, children's playroom, a Tebows cure hospital, and Night to shine. In the following sections I will go more in depth on some of the good and ethical things Tim Tebow does for the world.
Tim works in multiple countries aiding families that are adopting though giving them grants from the foundation. These grants give families that are adopting aid in food, medical care, and education expenses. In the short amount of time it has been around, the foundation has given 56 grants. 44 of the grants given have the orphaned children in their new forever home. Many of the adoptions through the foundation are adoptions of children with special needs.
Tim Tebow has built a hospital in the Philippines that specializes in orthopedic surgery. This hospital has performed more than 650 surgeries saving lives of children that would not otherwise have been so lucky if it weren't for Tim and his foundation. Along with providing care for the children in the hospital, Tim makes it a big deal that the children are ministered to and taught about the love of Christ.
Night to Shine
One night a year, Tim hosts a "Night to Shine." Night to shine is a prom for children with special needs. There are many different host churches all over the country for Night to Shine events, all funded by the Tebow foundation. When children attend the night to shine they are treated like kings and queens with many volunteers whose one goal is to make the children feel loved.
Tim has begun to build rooms in children's hospitals around the country that are filled with fun things to do for the children that are sick. In these playrooms Tim hopes to create a sense of community for the families of the hospital patients. The playrooms are a place to get children's minds off what they are going through and allow them to have fun even though their circumstances often are far from fun.
Every day actions
Tim Tebow constantly takes other people needs before himself, for example one day in October, Tim was making his baseball debut in Arizona when something bad happened. Tim was signing autographs when a man had a massive seizure, immediately after seeing this happen, Tim bent down to him, put his hands on him and prayed for him. Tim was genuinely worried about the fan who had seized and he paid particular attention to him because he cared. After he prayed over him, Tim went beyond just finishing the autograph and gave the mans friend a signed ball and batting gloves for him to give the sick man when he felt better.
This act of care was not the only good thing that Tim does or has done. After the Floirda night club shootings, Tim went to visit the families of the victims and let them know that they were not alone. Tim has also payed shoppers layaway so during the Christmas season multiple times. I could go on and on about all the good things Tim Tebow has done in his life, big and small, but that would take a really long time. What I am trying to say is, is that Tim Tebow has a true passion for others and is always trying to put others before himself. Tim is a natural leader that focuses on love and generosity. That is why Tim Tebow is a good, ethical person.
"We have to humble ourselves and the way you do that is by serving other people" -Tim Tebow
