Cultivating Ideas – Growing Relationships – Producing Results

Each year, the SEPC strives to curate an impactful series of industry programs and networking events for our members. The SEPC Virtual Garden is our newest platform through which we will continue to keep members abreast of the latest developments in produce—whether those are happening in the soil, in the cloud, or anywhere in between.

Through the SEPC Virtual Garden, we have begun planting the seeds from our founding pillars – Networking, Innovation, Community, and Education – so that our members will reap the benefits of harvesting quality experiences guaranteed to increase the value of their membership.

Join us in the garden for these current and upcoming SEPC Virtual Garden sessions:

Cooking in the Garden – Sponsor Chef Demos

SEPC University Educational Sessions

Produce Inspection Training

Southern Exposure 2021

In case you missed them, several of these sessions are available on demand!

The key to the success of our SEPC Virtual Garden is the community who tends it, and we are eager to serve alongside our SEPC family to see what we can grow together!

INNOVATION

Is your company looking for top entry level recruits?

STARS is the Southeast Produce Council’s annual scholarship program that awards 14 outstanding agricultural-based majors across 7 Southeast-based land grant universities. These students are at the top of their class and seeking to network, gain entry level positions, or acquire an internship with premier companies in the produce industry.

Join us for this invitation-only Cocktails & Careers private event. A highboy tabletop will be reserved for company representative(s) where you may showcase your company’s benefits to these highly qualified young job seekers!

Deadline February 2nd!

We are still taking reservations for on-site and virtual meetings for our LINKS program. As a valued member of the SEPC, we hope that you will take advantage of this exciting opportunity. Please submit your application for LINKS by February 2, 2021, and as you reply, you’ll be given the option to select your preferences.

This exclusive Retail/Foodservice Member benefit includes:

  • Complimentary private venue in which to either facilitate meetings with Southern Exposure exhibiting companies or conduct company team meetings*
  • Complimentary A/V equipment within the space (limited to projector, screen, PA system)
  • F&B can be ordered at member company’s expense

*Note: All LINKS participants must be SEPC members registered to attend Southern Exposure 2021.

Due to Covid-19, all LINKS events for Southern Exposure will limit room sizes to accommodate 1 supplying company and 1 buying company at a time. If any host company plans to have a series of 1:1 meetings, SEPC will facilitate a solution to ensure that rooms are sanitized between meetings.

We are also now offering hybrid meetings for Retail/Foodservice members who cannot attend due to travel restrictions, enabling you to virtually connect with current and potential vendors who are attending Southern Exposure in Orlando through the SEPC Virtual Garden.

How LINKS works for onsite Retail/Foodservice members: The SEPC will provide the private venue and A/V equipment to you free of charge to facilitate a meeting for Southern Exposure exhibiting companies with whom you currently conduct business. Once you select the SUBMIT button below, affirming your desire to participate in this program, you will be able to customize your LINKS meeting with available dates, times, and room options. If your company would benefit more by utilizing this opportunity for a team meeting within your company, you may request a space for that purpose, as well.

How LINKS works for virtual Retail/Foodservice members: You will be given the option of selecting our Virtual LINKS Meeting platform within your application, enabling you to customize the private venue as mentioned above. Once approved, we will set up the virtual meeting space within the SEPC Virtual Garden per your specifications so that onsite participants can communicate with you while you are onscreen via video conferencing.

If you are a Retail or Foodservice company looking to connect with vendors sign-up today!

COMMUNITY

Community Updates

“The boys have enjoyed eating lettuce grown from the ‘Goodness Garden’ in many ways. Their favorites have been cabbage rolls, BLT sandwiches, salads and even sprinkled shredded lettuce on top of many dishes as a garnish to add a cheerful burst of green.” ~ Victoria Shuman, Paul Anderson Youth Home Advancement Officer

Our featured charitable partner for January is Society of St. Andrew, whose partnership enables us to do our part to help feed America’s hungry. In addition to financial support as well as disaster relief donations, the SEPC is honored to work with the Society of St. Andrew to donate all leftover produce from Southern Exposure and Southern Innovations each year to help those who are hungry in the Southeast. Visit endhunger.org to learn more about this outstanding organization!

Through the COVID-19 pandemic, we have gained valuable insight into SEPC’s theme for 2021 – Produce: Powered by People. The produce industry has been deemed essential during this pandemic, and whether companies are serving from the fields or delivering to our tables we have all felt the tremendous impact.
