Tax Credit Donations

Thank you to all the Thunderbird Families who have so graciously donated to our Tax Credit Program! This is how we fund our Friday Electives Classes, off set the cost of Field Trips, Art Supplies and Character Education Material!

There is still time to donate to Palm Valley's Tax Credit Program. Person who file single or married filing separately can donate up to $200 and for persons who file a joint return can donate up to $400. In addition to the tax credit for the State of Arizona, the contribution qualifies as a charitable contribution on your federal tax return.

The tax credit is a dollar-for-dollar reduction of your tax liability, it it better than a tax deduction, and is available to all taxpayers regardless of whether they have students in school or live in the school district.

You do not have to give the entire amount allowed. You can make a difference with just $50, $75, or even $100. In addition, the credit can be split between schools in the district. Simply complete the form and return it to Palm Valley's front office by April 13, 2017 or mail it to the LESD Office prior to April 17, 2017 to take it off your State of Arizona taxes at the time you file for 2016. The District Office will provide you with a receipt verifying you have contributed to an eligible extracurricular activity.

From the desk of the Superintendent

Dear Litchfield Elementary School District Staff, Parents, and Community Members,

It’s my privilege to share with you the exciting news that next school year will be my last year as your superintendent; I will be retiring in June 2018. It has been an honor to serve our “A” rated district since 2002, and the dedicated staff and precious students of Litchfield Elementary School District will forever hold a special place in my heart.

The Governing Board has begun its search for the next superintendent and is committed to an inclusive process. We invite your participation as the Governing Board works to identify and attract candidates who will honor our proud past and cultivate our bright future.

Below please find a link to an electronic survey that allows staff and community members the opportunity to offer input about what qualities you would like to see demonstrated by our next superintendent. Surveys are due Monday, March 20th. Your confidential feedback will help us develop a profile of the skills and characteristics desired in our candidate pool.

Please use this link to complete the survey: LESD Superintendent Survey 2017

The superintendent position is posted on the District’s web site for internal and external applicants. Once the survey results are compiled, the Governing Board will begin reviewing applicants and will announce the remaining steps of the search process. The position is “open until filled,” in the event that the Governing Board needs to seek additional candidates after the initial screening. The timeline will depend on the applicant pool. To ensure a smooth transition, we are starting this process now so that I may work alongside my successor for a period of time before retirement.

Our Governing Board is eager to keep you well informed of this important process and to hear your ideas about how to strengthen our longstanding history of educational excellence. Please complete this survey by March 20th. Thank you in advance for your support and engagement.

Yours in education,

Dr. Julianne Lein

Superintendent
