Another Perspective, Bernice By Blanca and Al

Bernice is Boy Willie's sister and Doakers niece. In the play the main conflict is whether the Piano is going to be sold or not. Bernice is the one who mainly doesn't want to sell the Piano. She is a mature and calm woman but doesn't deeply talk about things or gives reasons for her actions. She hasn't exactly stated why she doesn't want to sell the Piano but she won't give it up

Bernice's most important line is,"[The Sheriff] might be looking for [Lymon] about that truck. He might have stole that truck. […]"(Wilson). In this she basically says that she doesn't trust them, since she's blaming them for stealing, which is odd because Boy Willie is a part of her family and she doesn't seem to fully trust him.
