Leading The Charge

Being in command of a military unit is the hardest yet most rewarding experience event a person can every have. I was lucky enough to get the chance to get mine in the famed 1-7 Cavalry. It earned its fame first from Custer at the Battle of Little Big Horn. Then several decades later in Vietnam in the Battle of Ia Drang. My part in this unit will not be as memorable for others but for me I shall never forget it. The 100 men and women that I was charged with leading was the greatest job I ever had. Many days were challenging but there is not one that I would trade or give back, for without out them I would not be the leader I have become today.
