Found poem #1

By ; Jacko on June 10, 2013

19 K

Potassium is my name ,

Im dangerous in open air,

So they hide me away in shame,

I’m ligth,

You can cut me,

But i am toxic,

Explosive,

And very reactive,

And thats whats brought me to fame,

So if you remember one thing,

Just one thing,

Remember i burn with a lilac flame.

11 / 24

So limp,

So frail,

So dead.

inject potassium chloride

into me next.

please.

maybe that’ll finally stop

my already dead

heart

Original poem #1 : haiku

I’m...

Beautiful aren't i ?

Malleable and very soft,

Im potassium .

Original Poem #2 : Haiku

Potassium: Overdose Warning

Do not overdose;

Just a little will save you,

But a lot will kill

Original Poem #3 : Haiku

Banana Peel

Please peel me open,

And pull back my yellow hide ;

WOW a banana !

Original Poem #4 : Acrostic

Potassium

Period 4

Oxidation level of plus or minus

Thermal expansion and thermal conductivity? Lets not go there.

Atomic numer of 19, you know it

Shear modulus? Whats that? 1.3 GPa

Speed of sound? 2000 m/s (at 20 *C) with a thin rod of course

Ionizaton energies; i have more than 3 levels

Unsure at all?

Maybe you need more potassium

Original Poem #5 ; Limerick

“Ace” & “Ue”

Stars & planets show a faint element trace,

Their pigments dance in outer space.

Potassium bleeds as a lilac hue ;

Where copper shows and it turns to blue,

That is why the universe is out of its place.

Original Poem #6 ; Couplet

Jim McMahon ( Potassium )

I’m an alkali metal with a plan

Try to keep up with me, if you can

Lose an electron is what we’re tryin’ to do

Because then our shells will be just like new

Found in the S block, I’m very reactive

Mix me with water, be ready to be impacted

That’s why i got you all here on the double

To catch me doin the element shuffle

Original Poem #7 ; Free Verse

“K” & “O”

Oxygen and I , what am i to say

Because we went on a date and all he said was “K”

Not to complain and not to squander

But what does “K” mean, its left me to wonder

Well “K” he exclaimed is what he is to say

For thats what you are on the table, oh yay

As though he is “O”, and that’s something left for another day

Original Poem #8 concrete

Health Risk

Original poem #9 cinquain

K

Element

Soft, maluable

Reactive, alkali metal,

Its found in bananas

Potassium

Original poem #10 alliteration poem

Pronouncing

Pronouncing potassium is probably pretty hard for ponderously petite people to practice

This concludes "Potassinating from the Heart" , thank you for reading
