Spring Soiree

Tomorrow night, 13 September at 6.30pm, we will be holding our first Spring Soiree in the school hall. A reminder that all performers are required to wear black pants with a black t-shirt with their Anzac Park jacket. This concert will provide the opportunity for our various performing arts ensembles to perform for parents. Our performing arts groups include; our junior and senior choir, junior and senior band, string ensemble and our junior and senior dance ensemble. I'm looking forward to a fabulous evening!

Partners in Learning Parent Survey

I would like all parents to participate in a parent survey. This survey will help us understand your perspective on your child’s experience at Anzac Park Public School. The survey is conducted entirely online and will take 15 minutes or less to complete and is completely confidential. Although participating in the survey is entirely voluntary, your responses are very much appreciated.

Congratulations to our Zone Athletes

Congratulations to all our athletes who represented Anzac Park at the recent Zone Athletics Carnival. It was fabulous to see our students compete at this level. Well done to Lara who came first in junior high jump. Lara will now represent the North Shore Zone at the upcoming Area Carnival.

Summer Uniform Reminder

This week we have started a short cross-over period between winter and summer uniform. This means that during the next 3 weeks children can wear either their winter or summer uniform. All children are expected to be in their summer uniform on the first day of Term 4.

Playgroup for 2019 Kindergarten Students

All children and their families who have enrolled and starting Kindergarten at Anzac Park in 2019 are invited to join us at 9:30am in the school hall next Thursday 20 September for a playgroup session. This will be an opportunity to meet staff, other parents and share in morning tea while your child plays with other children starting school next year.

News From the Library

This term, students at Anzac Park have been exploring the concept of Responding, specifically in relation to the Children’s Book of the Year titles. After reading and responding to a number of books, Kindergarten students each voted for their favourite. Do Not Lick This Book was the winner by a mile!

PREMIER’S READING CHALLENGE: Congratulations to the 333 students who completed the Premier’s Reading Challenge this year! It’s wonderful to see so many keen readers at Anzac Park. All students who completed the Challenge will receive their certificates from the NSW Premier at the end of Term 4.

P&C Update

It was fabulous to have so many members of our school community recently attend the Rewind Trivia Night. It was wonderful to have your support for what was both a fund and a fun raiser for our whole school community. The night was a roaring success with hilarious moments, silent & live auctions, raffles and of course trivia raising close to $7000 for our school.

A special mention, congratulations and thank you to the hardworking people who spent countless hours behind the scene organising the very successful P&C Trivia Night, a big special shout out to Allison & Brendan, Wes, Layton, Troy, Joanna & Russell as well as our amazingly generous sponsors.

ENVIROBANK RECYCLING: Another P&C thank you to all our APPS families who recently returned their Envirobank recycling bags, all money from this wonderful initiative goes back to the school community to continue to improving resources requested by the school.

Our next collection date will be the last Friday of Term 3, 28 September, from 7.30-9am. We are working on arrangements for those parents doing kiss and ride drop offs to also leave bags there and collect new ones. Remember, this collection is limited to items displaying the 10c recycling logo rather than general recycling and items cannot be left at the school at any other time outside of the collection date pick up dates/times.

Silver Awards

This week at assembly we celebrated the presentation of Silver Awards. Silver Awards are presented to students when they have received 3 Bronze Awards. Make sure you keep your child’s Bronze Awards safe and when they have collected 3, bring them into the office.
